Poupawatt is an innovative service developed by Watt-IS in partnership with Deco Proteste — the main Portuguese consumer association — designed to help families to become more energy-efficient and reduce their electricity bills through the power of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
This platform acts as a virtual energy manager, providing personalized advice based on each household’s energy consumption patterns. By applying advanced data analytics on energy consumption data made available through the electricity smart meters installed and managed by the Distribution Systems Operator, users receive actionable and customized recommendations, such as:
🞄 Accessing their energy consumption data;
🞄 Identifying the energy consumption per main appliance class;
🞄 Suggestions for replacing old or inefficient appliances;
🞄 Adjusting their electricity tariff or contracted power;
🞄 Receiving alerts for unusual or irregular consumption;
🞄 Optimizing the sizing of a solar photovoltaic solution;
🞄 Accessing personalized energy efficiency tips.
Poupawatt is made available as a cloud-based webapp and also through a mobile app for iOS and Android, where users can now manage their energy consumption directly from their smartphones.
The Poupawatt project reflects Watt-IS’s ongoing mission to turn energy data into actionable intelligence and to support consumers in their journey towards smarter, greener energy use.
